Melinda Jean Stafford, who advises the student organization, the Bee Team, that manages the apiary on the roof of the Student Union Building, is also a local bee expert. She presented an educational session at the Western Apicultural Society’s conference on Aug. 4. The Western Apicultural Society is a non-profit educational association for beekeepers that was founded in 1978. The conference was held at JUMP in Boise and featured speakers from across the United States. Stafford spoke about how to make bee-keeping associations relevant to younger generations, sharing her experiences working with Boise State University students.
