Ross Burkhart, a professor of political science, recently was interviewed by a television reporter, Meruyert Shalbayeva, who works for Astana TV in Kazakhstan. The interview is part of a report that is roughly translated as “‘Mobile Reporter’: America through the Eyes of Kazakhstan,” a discussion of the reporter’s visits to the U.S. cities of Washington, D.C., Tampa, Boise, New York City and Boston.
The reporter explains that “I was really surprised when I met a person in Boise who knows something about Kazakhstan.” Burkhart then discusses political and economic conditions in Kazakhstan.
