In conjunction with the Center for Teaching and Learning, the Service-Learning Program invites faculty to apply to participate in a faculty learning community designed for faculty who are new to service learning, as well as faculty who want to deepen their knowledge of service learning, improve their practice and strengthen their service-learning outcomes.
The faculty learning community will meet noon-1:30 p.m. on Mondays beginning Feb 2, for a total of six sessions. All faculty are eligible to apply; each participant will receive $300 for attending all six sessions and submitting a syllabus that incorporates service learning.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The application can be found here.
Faculty new to service learning will build a strong foundation and plan for integrating service-learning into their course. All participants will explore effective service-learning practices and share ideas that can be incorporated into their current or future classes.
