All students can opt for pass/fail grading for spring courses

In recognition of many Boise State students being adversely impacted by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic – perhaps most significantly by the sudden transition from in-person to remote instruction on March 13 – all undergraduate and graduate students will be allowed to invoke pass/fail grading for their spring 2020 courses.

This accommodation is for all undergraduate and graduate students. Students will be allowed to invoke Pass/Fail (P/F) grading accommodation for Spring 2020 courses in session at the outset of Boise State’s pandemic response on March 13.

Faculty will submit grades as usual, using the A+ through F grading scale, and students will have five calendar days after grades are posted to request to switch any of the relevant course grades to P/F grading. Please note that there will be differences in how pass/fail grading would apply for undergraduate and graduate students. More details will be communicated to faculty and students via email in the coming days.
