The Cycle Learning Center (CLC) is operating by appointment to provide the campus community with bicycle sales, rentals, parts, accessories and repairs. Appointments can be arranged by emailing clc@boisestate.edu.
A number of procedures have been put into place to ensure social distancing and sanitation measures can be safely met. Customers are not allowed into the shop, however staff members will set out parts or bicycles to examine and items can be purchased over the phone. Scheduled repairs or rentals will be dropped off in advance and secured with combination locks provided by the CLC. The repaired and sanitized bicycles will be returned in the same manner and payment will be taken over the phone for a contactless transaction.
The CLC continues to meet its educational mission by offering free tele-repair consultations for those needing a mechanic’s opinion remotely. Various video conferencing platforms can be used to diagnose problems and walk users through a repair if it can be easily done at home.
Additionally, in conjunction with National Bike Month, the CLC will be running a sale May 11-23. During this period, new bicycles will be discounted 10 percent, refurbished bicycles are reduced 20 percent and tune-ups are marked down $10.
