HR debuts new job postings software, enhances experience for new employees

“It has always been our goal to attract, employ and retain top talent,” said Ashton Corbit, a talent acquisition specialist in Boise State Human Resources (HR). Corbit is part of the HR Welcome Team, a new team dedicated to creating a welcoming experience for all new Boise State employees.

At the beginning of June, HR began transitioning all Boise State job postings from Taleo to PageUp. PageUp will replace Taleo as the applicant tracking (hiring) software at Boise State. The PageUp system was designed for higher education institutions and currently is used by dozens of other top universities including, the Cal State system, Oregon State and the University of Alabama, among others. It is an intuitive system that makes the business of hiring easier for both applicants and hiring managers.

To get campus ready for this move, HR staff have been meeting with campus partners to provide training, reworking the hiring pages with new instructions, job aids (hosted on Bronco Hub), and providing resources to make hiring and onboarding at Boise State better than it was before.  The Welcome Team will establish weekly virtual drop-in sessions, more information will be coming on those soon along with targeted department trainings provided by the talent acquisition specialists.

PageUp has an array of new features that the Welcome Team is excited to share with campus. Welcome Team members have been explaining some of their favorite features in short youtube videos that help campus better understand how the new welcome experience will enhance hiring at Boise State. Corbit talks to campus about better marketing. HR specialist Andrea Batten shares how her idea for an applicant tracker creates more transparent communications for applicants.

The journey to rolling out the Welcome Team and the new PageUp system started more than two years ago. HR discovered from listening to campus that how employees are recruited and onboarded onto campus is not always consistent or welcoming. To remedy this, HR has restructured the entire department to create teams focused on employee experiences with the Boise State People Strategy with the goal to create a more inclusive experience for all.

“To our campus partners, thank you for your patience and partnership in this time of transition. We appreciate you and always know we are here for you,” said Jordy LePiane, Welcome Team lead.
