Estrem, Shepherd and Sturman write award-winning article on writing placement

“Reclaiming Writing Placement” written by English professor Heidi Estrem, English associate professor Dawn Shepherd and Samantha Sturman, a placement and assessment manager with the First-Year Writing Program, has been selected as the 2020 winner of the Kenneth A. Bruffee Award for Best Article in WPA: Writing Program Administration.

The Kenneth Bruffee Award recognizes “exceptional scholarship” published in the journal and “seeks to honor research that is cutting edge, methodologically rigorous, and has the potential to broadly impact writing programs and the discipline.”
