Zoom and Panopto faculty training available Aug. 19-21

Faculty are invited to engage and accommodate remote students this fall with Zoom and Panopto, the university’s supported video conferencing and recording tools.

These tools integrate with Blackboard to support classes that occur both online and in the classroom.

Zoom is recommended for engaging with remote students in real time. Zoom video-conferencing allows instructors to hold synchronous class sessions to interact with remote students. Zoom integrates with Blackboard course sites, allowing students direct access to scheduled meetings and cloud recordings.

Panopto is the recommended solution for recording lectures for future viewing. Panopto allows instructors to record, edit and share instructional videos for online learning or classroom lecture capture. Panopto integrates with Blackboard course sites, allowing students direct access to scheduled meetings and cloud recordings.

Drop-In Training Sessions

Instructors are invited to attend drop-in training sessions Aug. 19-21 to learn how to use Zoom and Panopto in university classrooms:

  • Wednesday, Aug. 19: 9 a.m.-noon (ILC 203) and 1-4 p.m. (MBEB 1210)
  • Thursday, Aug. 20: 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 2:30-5 p.m. (ILC 118)
  • Friday, Aug. 21: 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4p.m. (RUCH 103)
