After a successful search, the university has named Mandy Nelson as university registrar.

Nelson joined Boise State Office of the Registrar in the summer of 1997 and took on roles with increased responsibility, most recently serving as interim registrar.

During her time at Boise State, Nelson has championed student services that support retention and graduation. She was instrumental in the implementation of the Degree Audit Report, the Transfer Equivalency System and most recently the Academic Adjustment eform.

Nelson’s leadership and care for students are most evident in the university’s commencement ceremony. Nelson has co-chaired the event for the past decade.

More recently, in her interim role, Nelson led the registrar’s office through several changes, responding nimbly to a variety of campus needs necessitated by the pandemic. They include partnering with many departments to support social distancing and hybrid options in course scheduling, as well as implementing a pass grade option for students for spring and fall 2020 semesters.
