The Center for Global Education mourns the death of Merrilou Burris on March 15.

Burris retired in December 2019 after serving as a management assistant, first for International Student Services, then for the Center for Global Education where she supported Boise State’s students and staff for more than a decade.

“She overcame challenges with humor and collegiality, and continually demonstrated an unshakable commitment to the well-being of Boise State’s international students. She will be missed,” said Corrine Henke, director, Global Learning Opportunities and International Student Services.

“In her memory, she would strongly encourage you to eat some peanut M&Ms, which were always a staple on her desk for students, staff or visitors,” Henke said.

Email Henke, chenke@boisestate.edu if you would like a mailing address to express your condolences to Burris’ family.
