Tracy Bicknell-Holmes will be stepping back from the role of dean of Albertsons Library effective Aug. 9 and will undertake a library faculty position. Library Associate Dean Michelle Armstrong will serve as interim dean of Albertsons Library.
Bicknell-Holmes came to Boise State University in 2013. As dean, she worked to develop partnerships between the library and other campus units to promote student success, integrate information literacy into course instruction and library services into research, promote and encourage OER and open access resources, and remove barriers to success for students and faculty.
Under her leadership, the library started and expanded the successful MakerLab, rightsized the library collection, started a sustainable library materials budget initiative to investigate potential consortia membership, worked to integrate library services throughout the research and publication lifecycle, and much more.
“It has been my absolute pleasure to serve as Boise State University Dean of Albertsons Library,” Bicknell-Holmes said. “I love Boise State and its Blue Turf thinking, and look forward to finding new ways to engage and contribute to student success.”
