Tomas Baiza, director of the advising and academic support center, published a short story entitled “A Place to Call Home” in Kelp Journal. Baiza said he began writing the story soon after Boise State’s COVID-19 shutdown and that it explores common pandemic themes like loneliness, the meaning of family, and a yearning for belonging in an unstable environment.
