Gautam Basu Thakur, associate professor of English and the director of the Critical Theory minor, presented a paper at the Psychology and the Other conference organized by Boston College.
Basu Thakur’s paper, “Subalternity, Blackness, & (the Crisis of) the Onto-Phenomenological,” theoretically reconsidered Gayatri Spivak’s concept of subalternity and Frantz Fanon’s idea of Blackness in relation to onto-phenomenology, the author said.
