Temkin Martinez organizes and facilitates sessions for Linguistic Society of America meeting

Michal Temkin Martinez, professor of linguistics, recently participated in the annual meeting of the Linguistic Society of America.

In addition to co-facilitating the “How to LSA” session with Alicia Parrish (New York University), Temkin Martinez co-taught a mini-course on “Thriving as an Early Career Faculty Member” and co-organized a symposium on “Small Teaching Toward Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Linguistics” with longtime collaborator Kazuko Hiramatsu (University of Michigan, Flint).

Members of a Faculty Learning Community presented the symposium which Hiramatsu and Temkin Martinez have been co-facilitating since Fall 2019 and whose focus is on capacity building for scholarly teaching and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in linguistics.
