Parkinson to speak at the College of Business and Economics on March 16

The College of Business and Economics’ Entrepreneur Connect Speaker Series will feature Jay Parkinson at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, in the Skaggs Hall of Learning, room 1301, in the Micron Business and Economics Building. Parkinson, an Idaho native, will share the path his career took from private equity to founder and CEO to serial entrepreneur. Parking for this event is free in the Brady Garage (University Drive and Brady Street).

The Entrepreneur Connect Speaker Series connects successful entrepreneurs with students and the community to share stories and advice in a casual setting. A panel composed of the college’s faculty will ask questions about entrepreneurship and encourage members of the audience to share inquiries of their own.

Parkinson is the founder and CEO of Stonehill Environmental Partners. Stonehill provides energy infrastructure and environmental solutions to the upstream energy industry. Stonehill focuses on maximizing efficiency and reducing the environmental footprint for oil and gas industry customers’ operations. Stonehill’s financial partner is Golden Gate Capital, a $19 billion private equity fund based in San Francisco, California.

Prior to his current role, Parkinson founded and served as CEO of Hillstone Environmental Partners, which was sold in October 2019 to NGL Energy Partners for approximately $600 million. That’s nearly five times the initial invested capital.
