The Broncos finished a record-setting season as champions of the Mountain West Conference,
winning both an outright conference title and a conference tournament championship. That hadn’t happened since 1988 when the program competed in the Big Sky Conference.

“This team will go down in history for all the accomplishments they had, the way they turned the season around,” said Head Coach Leon Rice referring to the Broncos’ 3-4 start at the beginning of the year. “They went on a remarkable winning streak, which goes to show how hard it is because it was one of the longest in the country.”

The Broncos entered the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament as an
eight seed, the team’s highest in program history. Despite losing a hard-fought game to
Memphis, the Broncos proved their resilience and grit.

“They didn’t roll over for anybody,” Rice said.
