Director hired for new Office of University Events; other changes to event management

Heather Lile has been named the new director of the Office of University Events. The office is a part of Campus Services, a Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. Over the next 18 months, she and event stakeholders will develop the university’s processes, procedures, and event guidelines for planning and executing successful events on campus.

Prior to joining Boise State, Lile was the business relations and development manager of the Downtown Boise Association. In that role she gained extensive knowledge of event planning and logistics and experience producing quality, community-focused events and promotions.

About the Office of University Events

The Office of University Events will be developed over the next year to serve as the central event planning and management office. The office will assist in guiding organizations through Boise State’s event submission process, securing space and advising on program design. The office will also train and assist in the coordination of service providers for both on and off-campus vendors.

Additional changes to events management

University Event Services became Student Union Events on July 1, 2022. The Student Union Events oversight is now limited to events in the Student Union, Alumni and Friends Center (first floor), Christ Chapel, and reservable outdoor spaces. Athletics now manages the Stueckle Sky Center and other event spaces within athletic facilities.

Oversight of events may continue to change to best meet the needs of the institution. Student Union Events coordinators and Lile are available to help guide event hosts looking to produce events in other locations on campus.
