Henderson to retire after 25 years of service

Stephen Henderson, technical services manager for the Office of Information Technology customer care team, is retiring after 25 years of service at Boise State University.

Henderson has been with the university since 1997 and has been involved in many notable projects, including pioneering open-access student computer labs, working with the Disability Resource Center (now the Educational Access Center), serving on the Professional Staff Association committee, and leading student employees and the OIT audio-visual team.

“These past several years, I had the opportunity to work directly with Stephen, and it has been an absolute pleasure, ” said Chief Information Security Officer and Executive Director of OIT Customer Care, Mark Fitzgerald. “He has made the classroom a showcase of the university. When things changed with COVID, it was Stephen and his team that transformed the university and prepared for both in-person and online classes. Stephen typifies the dedicated employee that is a caring and vibrant member of the Boise State community.”

Retirement Celebration

The campus community is invited to a retirement celebration for Henderson from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 in the Simplot C Ballroom of the Student Union Building. Light refreshments will be served.
