Boise State Symphony Orchestra spring concert Feb. 12

The Boise State Symphony Orchestra, with guest faculty artists, will perform their spring concert entitled “Music At A Time of War!” at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, in the Morrison Center Main Hall. Each of the works featured on this program was written between the war years of 1942-1945.

The orchestra, under the direction of Craig Purdy, will be joined by guest faculty artists Nicole Molumby, flute; Rachel Becker, oboe; and Zach Buie, trumpet, in a performance of Samuel Barber’s “Capricorn Concerto.” The program also features Paul Creston’s “Fanfare for Paratroopers,” William Walton’s “Two Pieces for Strings from “Henry the V,” Bohuslav Martinů’s “Memorial to Lidice,” Aaron Copland’s “Variations on A Shaker Melody” and Morton Gould’s “American Salute.”

Convenient parking is available for non-Boise State parking permit holders south of the Morrison Center.
