Fitzgerald delivers presentation on information technology security mandates

Chief Information Security Officer Mark Fitzgerald recently presented “Dealing With Mandates and ‘Stupid Stuff'” at Westnet.

Fitzgerald discussed the economic costs of federal compliance requirements to mitigate potential security risks, including government bans of TikTok, implications of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the protection of controlled unclassified information used in the administration of federal student aid programs.

WestNet is a nonprofit education and research consortium composed of higher education, research and government organizations in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.
