Baiza to debut novel at Rediscovered Books; appear at Storyfort

Rediscovered Books and Flying M Coffee will host a book release event for Academic Advising and Support Center Director Tomas Baiza at 7 p.m. on March 21 at Rediscovered Books in downtown Boise. Baiza’s debut novel, “Delivery: A Pocho’s Accidental Guide to College, Love, and Pizza Delivery,” tells the story of a young man taking stock of his life during his senior year of college.

“I wrote the book with several purposes in mind,” Baiza said. “I wanted to write something that challenged common depictions of Chicano identity and culture in fiction, explore some of the more complicated aspects of the undergraduate experience and also to encourage those readers who are searching for a place to belong to not give up the search.”

Donations for the program will go to The Trevor Project.

Baiza will also be one of the featured authors at Storyfort 2023. Boise’s annual literary celebration and a part of the Treefort Music Fest, Storyfort hosts discussions, readings and panels featuring both established and emerging authors. Baiza will present readings and guided discussions focusing on his debut novel, “Delivery,” and his forthcoming collection, “A Purpose To Our Savagery.”
