Celebrate employee appreciation week April 24-28

Boise State’s annual employee appreciation week is April 24-28, 2023. This is an opportunity to thank colleagues and join with the campus community during a series of virtual programs, in-person activities and events.

Employees attending events throughout the week will receive raffle tickets for opportunities to win prizes. Prizes include a parking pass, Bronco merchandise, Coca-Cola products, tickets for events at ExtraMile Arena, gift cards for on- and off-campus eateries, a football signed by coach Andy Avalos and special items for Campus Recreation members.

Additionally, throughout the week all employees will have free access to the Rec Center and be eligible for Bronco Shop discounts. A limited number of free parking vouchers are available for remote employees to join in the festivities. Email specialevents@boisestate.edu to claim a one time voucher.

Monday, April 24

Employee Appreciation Kick-Off: 11 a.m.–1 p.m. B Plaza: The campus community is invited to join a kick-off event at B-Plaza where refreshments will be served and lawn games are available for employees to compete with one another.

Tuesday, April 25

Coffee and Pastries with Dining Services: 10–11 a.m. Buster’s Kitchen (SUB): Stop by to learn more about Boise State Dining offerings for employees including meal plans, an in-house dietician and more. This event is first-come, first-served and will be limited to 100 employees.

Presentation on Gratitude with Matt Niece: 12–1 p.m. Zoom session: Join a 2023 Employee Appreciation Week lunch-and-learn webinar on gratitude, featuring Matt Niece, director of University Counseling Services.

Frisbee Golf: 2–4 p.m. Ann Morrison Park: Join fellow employees for a fun and friendly game of frisbee golf.

Wednesday, April 26

Bronco Trivia: 11 a.m. Zoom session: Did you know that Boise Junior College was almost an all girls school? What year did the football team win their first bowl game? Join colleagues for trivia to learn fun facts about Boise State.

Ice Cream Social with Leadership: 1–3 p.m. Student Union Patio: Come grab a scoop of ice cream and visit with campus leadership.

Thursday, April 27

Annual Employee Appreciation Breakfast: 8:30–10 a.m. Jordan Ballroom: All employees are invited to join together for a light continental breakfast and the presentation of annual staff awards.

Bowling and Billiards: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Student Union Building Games Center: Play a few free rounds of bowling or billiards throughout the day on Thursday. Employees can either reserve a lane as a group, or sign up individually. Billiards and ping pong are first come, first served.

Disco Dancing: 2:30–3:15 p.m. Alumni and Friends Ballroom: Did you know Boise State offered a Disco Dance course for credit in the 70’s? Do you wish you could transport yourself back in time to take a class? Well, wish no more! Alum and former disco instructor, Aleta Pottenger, is dusting off her dancing shoes and returning to campus to teach facilitate this event.

Friday, April 28

Bowling and Billiards: 10 a.m.–1 p.m. Student Union Building Games Center: Play a few free rounds of bowling or billiards on Friday morning. Employees can either reserve a lane as a group, or sign up individually. Billiards and ping pong are first come, first served.

Faculty/Staff Pickleball: 12-2 p.m. Rec Center: Come by the Rec Center, utilize your free week of membership for Employee Appreciation Week, and play your coworkers in pickleball. Equipment is provided at no cost.
