The Student Philanthropy Board, made up of students nominated by deans, faculty and staff members, promotes a culture of philanthropy by providing grants to students and student groups pursuing philanthropic projects at Boise State and beyond.
“The board is just one more way Boise State prepares students to become engaged community members,” said Sydney Montgomery, director of student and recent graduate programs, and the board’s founder and lead advisor. “The Student Philanthropy Board puts philanthropy within their reach.”
Recent grant recipients include Dance Marathon, a student-led initiative that raises funds and awareness for Boise’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital; the Campus Food Pantry; a beautification project at the Student Union Building; the Student Outdoor Society to support students in TRIO, a federal program that serves underrepresented students; and CAMP, the College Assistance Migrant Program.
Boise State University Alumni Association and student activity fees fund the board. Organizers welcome donor support. Learn more about how you can help
