Created a language? The linguistics department wants to hear about it

Calling all conlangers: The Department of Linguistics will offer a UF100 course on constructed languages beginning fall 2024. Examples of constructed languages include Esperanto, the Klingon language from Star Trek and languages created by J.R.R. Tolkien for his Lord of the Rings series.

The department seeks discussion group leaders with experience in constructed languages. They also are interested in forming a campus-wide community of conlangers of all levels.

Fans of constructed languages or those who have created languages themselves can email linguistics@boisestate.edu with the subject line “Conlangers unite!” to be involved in the project.
