College of Innovation and Design’s Business Manager Collaborative announces first session Nov. 13

With support from the Office of the Provost and college deans, Amanda Ryan, College of Innovation and Design assistant dean, launched a Business Manager Collaborative. It will host a series of “lunch and learn” events, bringing together business managers and people interested in growing business management skills.

The goal is to grow the Boise State business manager capacity through the following:

  • Celebrating the hard work of these individuals and creating a community of support.
  • Providing professional development for business managers and others interested in pursuing this career path.
  • Recruiting staff to consider career growth opportunities for the senior business manager role.

On Nov. 13 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., it will hold its first open training session led by Senior Business Manager Marcy Harmer titled, “Funding Frenzy: Navigating Appropriated, Local, and Grants Dollars.” All business managers and those who help manage budgets and reporting are encouraged to attend. Lunch will be provided to those who RSVP by Nov. 8.
