Four students studying French were awarded American Association of Teachers of French awards this Spring: Dylan Jamison (Outstanding Senior in French), Danielle Grinstead (Excellence in French), Caitlin O’Callaghan (Excellence in French) and Elanor Spring (Excellence in French). Their awards were shared with the community via the Department of World Language’s Alpha Mu Gamma celebration video.

The American Association of Teachers of French was founded in 1927 and is the largest national association of French teachers in the world, with nearly 10,000 members, teaching at all levels of French. To qualify for the Excellence in French award, a student must be a non-native speaker of French, have maintained an “A” average in French and a “B” average overall and have demonstrated exceptional commitment to the study of French by participating in extracurricular activities related to French. Students nominated for “Outstanding Senior” are held to the same qualifications with the difference that only one student may be nominated per year for this award. The French section of the Department of World Languages is extremely proud of their accomplishments in the classroom and their contributions to the Boise State campus — all four students work in the department’s World Language Resource Center.
