In a recent article published by the Idaho Statesman, Ross Burkhart, a professor of political science, shared his expertise on Micron Technology’s latest response to new tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. The article, “Micron says it will pass some tariff costs on some products onto customers,” looks at how the company’s proposed response to the tariffs could affect consumers.

Burkhart suggests that Micron is likely to be cautious in its plans due to an unstable global trade future. The tendency is for the global economy to constrict when there is trade uncertainty, and with Micron’s diversified factories across southeast Asia, it is likely to be highly vulnerable to such uncertainty, Burkhart surmised.
