Hunt and Kettler win Idaho Press Club award for podcast

In the fall of 2024, Jaci Kettler and Charlie Hunt, political scientists and professors in the School of Public Service, launched their passion project – a podcast on Boise State Public Radio all about political scandals in the United States and their relevance in government today.

The podcast, Scandalized, saw immediate success, attracting the interest of listeners through Hunt and Kettler’s storytelling abilities coupled with their political expertise. In March of 2025, Hunt and Kettler hosted a live taping of Scandalized as part of Treefort Music Festival’s Podfort.

The latest achievement for Scandalized was a taking first-place in the Idaho Press Club’s General Excellence in Audio awards. “We were surprised but very, very pleased to receive it,” Hunt said. “Scandalized has been a joy to work on…we’re already talking about what we’ll be working on next, and we can’t wait to get started.”
