Marie-Anne de Graaff has been selected as Interim Dean for Boise State University’s College of Arts and Sciences, announced today by John Buckwalter, Boise State provost. A national search for the position is forthcoming.
“Dr. de Graaff has been a valued member of the Boise State community for 15 years, is an accomplished teacher and scholar, and is well respected among her peers,” said John Buckwalter, provost. “I expect that her deep knowledge of the needs and mission of the College of Arts and Sciences will help us continue to serve the university community and our students. I have the utmost confidence in her ability to lead in this interim position.”

de Graaff has served as associate dean of graduate education, research and creative activity for the College of Arts and Sciences. She is a professor of biology with research interests in how climate and land-use affect ecosystem processes that drive the global carbon cycle and how plant roots and soil microorganisms interact to affect soil carbon and nutrient dynamics.
de Graaff will assume the role on July 20, 2025.
