Katie Thomas has been selected as Boise State University’s Chief Human Resources Officer following a national search.
“I am delighted to welcome Katie back home to Boise State. I know her leadership will position our campus for success in the future – and will contribute to an even more collaborative, strategic, and supportive relationship between human resources and campus partners,” said Jeremiah Shinn, interim president. “My sincere thanks to Annie Hightower for serving as the interim CHRO, to the search committee for their time and dedication to identifying stellar candidates, and to the campus community for its participation and active engagement in the process.”

Thomas brings over 14 years of Idaho higher education experience and strategic human resources leadership to Boise State after serving six years at Idaho State University, where she most recently served as the Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to her time at ISU, Thomas spent more than seven years at Boise State in a variety of positions within operations and human resources.
“Katie is genuinely committed to supporting our workforce across our campus community,” said Alicia Estey, chief financial and operating officer. “She has successfully led through leadership and organizational transitions with employee-centered solutions at the heart of her work. Katie approaches her work with strategic alignment in mind and brings expertise in employee relations, leadership coaching and talent development. We are excited to welcome Katie back to Boise State to help strengthen human resources and workforce strategy.”
