Earlier this year, Boise State suspended university-sponsored travel for employees and students through the end of the calendar year with select exceptions. As travel requirements have continued to evolve and change, the university has revised its travel policy to include new guidelines, including information on the need to quarantine prior to resuming activities on campus.
Travel increases your chances of getting and spreading COVID. Your risk of getting COVID while traveling depends on whether you and those around you take steps to protect yourself and others, such as wearing facial coverings, washing your hands frequently and staying six feet away from people outside of your household. Airports, bus stations, train stations and rest stops are all places travelers can be exposed to the virus. These are also places where it can be difficult to physically distance. In general, the longer you are around a person with COVID, the more likely you are to get infected.
Boise State has revised the travel policy to include travel guidelines as well as quarantine guidelines and flow charts to determine the need to quarantine when returning to campus.
