Doug Twitchell publishes article that intersects multitasking with technology

Doug Twitchell

Doug Twitchell, associate professor in the Department of Information Technology and Supply Chain Management, co-authored the article “Too Busy to Be Manipulated: How Multitasking with Technology Improves Deception Detection in Collaborative Teamwork” in the Journal of Management Information Systems.

Twitchell and the additional authors examine how deception can be a staple among work teams. According to the article’s abstract, their research “develops a foundation for a nuanced theoretical understanding of deception detection under conditions” that exist in technology-driven business environments. Through studies that used collaborative games that depicted  virtual group environments, the results provide managers with new insights into effective multitasking tactics and collaborative processes for their teams.
