Boise State hosts the third discussion and dialog in the series, Conviction and Conversation in Contested Times. Healthcare is the topic of the virtual discussion that will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 4.
Panelists include local experts in public health, health insurance, hospital administration, and the practice of medicine:
- Odette Bolano, president and chief executive officer, Saint Alphonsus Health System
- Dave Jeppesen, director, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare
- Dave Self, chief administrative officer, St. Luke’s Health System
- Rhonda Robinson-Beale, senior executive physician and consultant to numerous health insurers and national organizations
- Dick Armstrong, former director, Idaho Department of Health and Welfare
American health care spending accounts for $3.8 trillion or nearly 18% of Gross Domestic Product. The scale of that spending has implications for our wallets—averaging more than $11,000 per person per year—and, more importantly for our well-being. With so much at stake, questions arise: What’s the best way to deliver healthcare? How do we pay for health care? How do we manage its rising costs? In the COVID era, these questions have become even more urgent. Panelists will address these and other questions.
