Paudel publishes article in Energy Economics

Assistant Professor of Economics Jayash Paudel recently published an article,”Beyond the Blaze: The Impact of Forest Fires on Energy Poverty,” in Energy Economics, the premier field journal for energy economics and energy finance. This article is part of a special issue, Energy Poverty: Trends and Perspectives. More details on the study can be found on this link: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.eneco.2021.105388

According to Paudel, “Findings from this research project show that natural disasters may exceed a country’s capacity to recover from economic damages and cause a significant overall decrease in energy consumption. This helps inform existing fire management policymakers potential ways to account for adverse consequences on energy needs associated with forest fires.”
