The university is hosting a mid-cycle accreditation evaluation visit by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities on April 4 and 5, 2022. A three-member evaluation team will conduct a virtual visit during which time they will meet with various individuals across the university. A mid-cycle review report was submitted as part of the evaluation process.
“We are excited to be hosting the NWCCU evaluation team for our regularly scheduled mid-cycle review,” said John Buckwalter, provost and vice president for academic affairs. “This is another opportunity for us to showcase the great work happening at Boise State with outstanding outcomes in student learning and achievement. We thank everyone who is participating in the scheduled meetings with the NWCCU team.”
The mid-cycle review is a part of the regular accreditation cycle. This review occurs three years after the last full accreditation review, and four years before the next one. In 2019, Boise State submitted the mission fulfillment and sustainability self study (PDF) and underwent a full review including an external evaluation visit.

The mid-cycle review will focus on the following aspects:
- Mission Fulfillment: Specifically, the new strategic plan and related processes, such as program assessment, program prioritization, and the integrated planning process
- Student Achievement: How the university is working to identify and close equity gaps through efforts such as the strategic enrollment and retention plan
- Program Assessment: How programs are using evidence to evaluate student learning and, more importantly, how programs are using information gleaned from assessment to improve
