John Buckwalter selected as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs for the University of Central Florida
John Buckwalter, provost and vice president for academic affairs for Boise State University, has been selected in a national search as provost for the University of Central Florida, UCF President Alexander Cartwright announced today.
“John has been an exceptional colleague whose kindness, dedication, and genuine care for students and faculty helped define an important era at Boise State,” said Jeremiah Shinn, Boise State interim president. “It speaks volumes that one of the nation’s largest universities has chosen a Bronco to serve as its next provost — we couldn’t be prouder.”
An interim provost will be selected by mid-June to ensure a seamless transition upon Buckwalter’s departure towards the end of July.
