Buie invited for guest artist residency in Budapest

Zach Buie, associate professor of trumpet, was invited for a guest artist residency in May 2025 at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. He enjoyed teaching trumpet lessons, giving a presentation on thriving in a project driven career, coaching chamber music ensembles and presenting a collaborative fundamentals workshop on brass performance techniques.

The Liszt Academy is one of the oldest and most prestigious music institutions in the world. This year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject placed the Franz Liszt Academy of Music 24th in the performing arts category and 12th in music education. The fully funded residency was organized by Balázs Jankus, head of international relations for the Liszt Academy, and Gábor Boldoczki, professor of trumpet.
