McLuskie finishes guest professorship in Germany

Professor Emeritus Ed McLuskie of the Department of Communication recently completed an invited guest professorship at the University of Augsburg, Germany, from April to June 2025.

His seminar, titled “Contemporary Transformations of Public Communication as Public Participation,” was delivered within the Public Communication division of the Communication Science Department.

McLuskie also presented a roundtable retrospective in Denver, Colorado, at the International Communication Association on June 13, 2025. The roundtable was titled “Has Theory Let Media and Communication Scholars Off the Hook? Reflections on Philosophy, Theory and Critique.” McLuskie’s contribution was titled “Ironic Continuities: Challenging Dominant Inquiry in ICA and within the Philosophy, Theory & Criticism Division.”
