Katherine Wright recently was awarded the Jerry Johns Promising Researcher Award, an annual $500 award given out by the Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers (ALER) that recognizes research addressing significant questions for reading/literacy and extends understanding of its development, assessment and/or instruction from early childhood to adult level.
Wright also was awarded an ALER Literacy Teacher Education Research Grant, a $3,000 award for promising research that addresses significant questions in literacy.
