Jayne Josephsen Publishes Article About Using E-Portfolios for Distance Learning Clinical Courses

Jayne Josephsen, MS, RN, CHPN, assistant professor in the School of Nursing, published an article in the “International Journal of ePortfolio,” volume 2, number 1. The article, “Electronic Portfolios for Distance Learning: A Case from a Nursing Clinical Course,” focuses on using a project based e-portfolio format to assess clinical nursing courses, which are particularly challenging when offered via distance learning. The results of implementing the e-portfolio as a pedagogical practice are examined as well as considerations for improvement in the use of this instructional strategy. Additionally, student and faculty issues related to the introduction and use of the e-portfolio are discussed. The article can be downloaded from http://www.theijep.com/current.cfm.
