Jason Blomquist joined the School of Nursing in 2021 as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Blomquist brings
experience in leading innovative nursing teams working to transform care delivery using Virtual Care and
telehealth. Beginning his clinical career on inpatient telemetry and cardiac care units he developed a
passion for professional practice improvement, patient advocacy, and nurse development. Building on
this experience, Blomquist has led the implementation of system-wide initiatives and nursing teams
utilizing technology and remote patient management applications.

Blomquist choose to pursue nursing as a second career and earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing
from Idaho State University in 2011. Reinforcing his leadership training, Blomquist received a master’s
in Organizational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and is a board-certified Nurse
Executive, Advanced through the American Nurse Credentialing Center.

As a leader and educator, Blomquist is dedicated to empowering individuals to engage in their
development and professional practice. In his free time, he maintains his clinical practice as a
Telehealth RN at St. Luke’s Health System, reads as much as possible, and enjoys bike riding with his
family.
