Alarm Systems
Alarm Types
Boise State University uses Manitou CS (Central Station) to monitor and receive alarms from most university-owned or leased buildings on and off-campus. These alarms include:
- Fire Alarms
- Security Alarms (Panic buttons, motion sensors, etc.)
- Environmental Alarms (Heat Plant boilers, data center temperature, lab freezers, etc.)
Activated Alarms
When an alarm is activated it is sent to the Manitou CS computer in the Public Safety Dispatch Center at Capital Village. The dispatcher contacts the appropriate first responders and routes to the location.
The Honors College/Southfork Market are monitored and dispatched by a 3rd party alarm monitoring company.
In any emergency, call 9-1-1. If you experience, witness, or suspect criminal activity on campus you can call 9-1-1 or the Department of Public Safety at (208) 426-6911.
Departments may request a security system by filling out theĀ Integrated Security Technology Request Form. Department-specific systems will be funded by the requesting department.
