Synthetic Drugs refer to a wide range of chemical products that are ever-changing.


CADCA 

Since 1992, CADCA has demonstrated that when all sectors of a community come together —social change happens. CADCA has members in every U.S. state and territory and working in 23 countries around the world. Special programs within CADCA are supporting our returning veterans and their families and training youth leaders to be effective agents of change –all through the coalition model.

Council on Chemical Abuse

Since 1972, the Council on Chemical Abuse has served in a lead role, offering the resources necessary to respond to the complex problems of substance abuse and addiction. Designated by the County Commissioners as the Single County Authority (SCA) for Berks County, the Council is responsible for the administration and management of publicly-funded alcohol, tobacco, and drug services. The Council is a non-profit organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors reflective of the local community.


Foundation for a Drug Free World 

The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free. No one, especially a young person, likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. Thus, The Foundation for a Drug Free World provides the facts that empower youth to choose not to take drugs in the first place. Additionally our Truth About Drugs campaign consists of activities that they can join which popularize drug-free living. These activities are simple, effective and can involve people of all ages.


Just Think Twice

Just Think Twice is a website from the Drug Enforcement Administration with educational information on drugs of abuse, trends and risk factors. This link provides information on a variety of synthetic drugs such a fentanyl, cannabinoids and synthetic stimulants like molly and bath salts.

National Institute on Drug Abuse

NIDA’s mission is to advance science on the causes and consequences of drug use and addiction and to apply that knowledge to improve individual and public health. This link provides extensive information on synthetic cannabinoids, the chemicals they contain and the risks that they pose and consequences they have been shown to create.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse site that is specifically for teenagers. This NIDA resource link includes a working definition of what synthetic marijuana is and contains what the biological impacts of this regularly changing chemical compound can be. Also available here are links to additional information and answers to other important questions like how addictive Spice is and how it is currently being consumed.
