International Credit Evaluation

International Credit Evaluation

Option 1—Before Attending Boise State

If you would like to know what courses will transfer before attending Boise State, you can request an evaluation prior to enrolling. This option will make registration easier and faster. We recommend SpanTran: The Evaluation Company, and will also accept evaluations from this list of NACES members.

Evaluations from some other services are accepted. Please check with the Registrar’s Office to see if the agency you would like to use is not on the list.

You are responsible for supplying the correct academic records and paying for the evaluation service. You will need to request a course-by-course evaluation.

Please have the evaluation sent to:

Boise State University
1910 University Drive
Administration Building
Boise, ID 83725-1365

Please note that credential evaluations can be used for transfer credit purposes only. Official transcripts must be submitted for admission and scholarship evaluation. International courses are equated to department elective credit with a grade of Pass (P). To receive specific course credit, please contact that department for the possibility of an Academic Adjustment for Transfer Credit.

Option 2—During Your First Semester

Boise State will submit your transcript(s) to SpanTran for evaluation after you have sent all official documents, paid your fees, and enrolled in classes. The cost for this evaluation ($160) will be your responsibility and will be posted to your student account. This fee must be paid within 30 days or an enrollment hold will be placed on your record. It is possible to appeal to waive the cost of the credit evaluation, if you qualify for an application fee waiver or you are otherwise able to demonstrate financial need.
