[Jeremiah B. Shinn, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management]: We believe Boise State University students can do anything. The blend of experiences and attributes they bring to our campus is what makes Boise State unlike any other university in America. Our students live blue turf thinking: they’re smart, creative, determined, and grounded. And that’s an unstoppable combination on the field, in the classroom, and beyond. The Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management is here to help them thrive on campus and wherever life takes them after graduation.

From the first time a future Bronco starts thinking about college all the way to landing their first job, we’re here with them, making the journey smoother, more connected, and memorable. And while our division includes more than 25 different departments, programs, and teams, we’re all united by a single purpose: supporting our students’ success. And collectively, we do this by focusing on five things.

First, we make it as easy as possible for students to get here, to stay here and to reach their goals, whether that’s earning a degree, landing a job, going to grad school, starting a family, or pursuing whatever future they imagine for themselves.

Second, we create a sense of home away from home. A college campus can feel like a big city, but when students connect with classmates, professors, and staff, it starts to feel a lot more like a small community. We’re here to help students find their people and discover what inspires them.

Third, we help students learn to take care of themselves mentally, physically, and academically. That means building healthy routines, learning how to manage stress, and setting themselves up for success inside and outside the classroom.

Fourth, we know life happens, and when it does, we’re here to help students find a path forward and connect them with the support they need to get back on track and finish their degree.

And finally, we help students discover what they care about so much that it makes them want to wake up early and stay up late working toward it. And we give them the tools and opportunities to go after it.

I’m proud to work at this university, I’m proud to live in this state, and I’m proud to be a part of this amazing team who supports our students during the 153 hours each week they spend outside the classroom. Because we believe Boise State University students can do anything.
