5 ½ Things to Do During Homecoming Week

Homecoming! It’s our version of a big Bronco family reunion. This week, bask in the glow of blue and orange spirit, join the revelry, and cheer on our football team until you’re blue in the face. Literally.

Here are a few ways to experience Homecoming to its fullest this year:

1) Toilet Bowl

This intramural flag football tournament happens on The Blue on Monday, September 27.

Fun fact: the Toilet Bowl is one of the longest-running Boise State Homecoming traditions. It’s evolved a lot over the years, but it’s been a Homecoming fixture for more than 60 years.

2) Bronco Spirit Contests

Think you have the best tailgating recipe in all the land? Or the best-dressed Bronco pet? Enter one or all of the Bronco Spirit contests throughout the week, and show Bronco Nation what you’ve got. (And yes, there are prizes involved!)

3) Bronco Cup

Bronco Cup is a 5-day tournament that puts teams’ brains, brawn and Bronco spirit to the test throughout the week. If you didn’t get a chance to register a team last week, you can still keep up with the competition on Instagram @GetInvolvedBSU.

4) Homecoming Parade

The Homecoming parade is Saturday, October 2, at 10 a.m. It starts at Brady Street, follows Caesar Chavez Lane into the East Stadium parking lot, and ends at the intersection of Grant and University Drive. Put on your mask and soak up the blue and orange extravaganza!

5) Bronco Football Game

Then it’s on to the main event. All the festivities of the week lead up to the Bronco football game on Saturday afternoon. Watch the Boise State Broncos take on Nevada, starting at 1:30 p.m.

Student tickets are free with a valid student ID. Just make sure you know all the health guidelines and requirements for attending.

5 ½) Parent & Family Weekend

That’s right, it’s Homecoming and Parent & Family Weekend all at once. That means there’s even more stuff to do! Invite your family and have some fun.
