Homecoming is here and we’re so excited to celebrate with activities on campus and on the blue for the highlight of the week — the home football game. It’s also Parent and Family Weekend so your whole family can join in on the fun! Dig out your blue and orange gear and show your Boise spirit (every week of course, but especially this week). Here are 5 1/2 of the best ways to get the most out of homecoming week.
1) Homecoming Bash
Hit the Communications Building Lawn Tuesday, October 7 for the Homecoming Bash from 5 – 7 p.m. Let’s kick off this week leading up to the big kick off. Join in on the Bronco spirit, food, games, giveaways and more!
2) Bronco Spirit Contests
Think you have the best tailgating recipe in all the land? Or the best-dressed Bronco pet? Enter one or all of the Bronco Spirit contests throughout the week including an office decorating contest if you work on campus. Show Bronco Nation what you’ve got. (And yes, there are prizes involved!)
3) Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally
The Homecoming Parade and Pep rally is Friday, October 10, at 6 p.m. It starts at Brady Street, follows Caesar Chavez Lane into the West Stadium parking lot, and ends at the Intramural Fields. Enjoy the blue and orange extravaganza! Find a spot along the Greenbelt for a great view of the floats.
4) Dry Tailgate Party
Gear up for the Boise State vs. New Mexico football game with a Dry Tailgate on Saturday, October 11 at 4:45 p.m. Students and families are invited to meet on the Intramural Field for free food, fun games, and lively music.
5) Bronco Football Game
All the festivities of the week lead up to game day where the Boise State Broncos take on New Mexico, starting at 7:45 p.m. on October 11. Student tickets are free with a valid student ID. Practice your cheers, throw on your game day gear, and come support your Broncos!
5 ½) Parent & Family Weekend
That’s right, it’s Homecoming and Parent & Family Weekend all at once. That means there’s even more stuff to do! Invite your family and have some fun.
