After a long semester of hard work, under totally unique circumstances, it’s time for a break. Just as the spring did, summer may look different for many of us, but it can still be great. Here’s how to make the most of it and start summer off with a bang.
1) Have a star gazing party in your backyard
While going on a camping trip or staying at a campground might not be realistic for everyone right now, you can still bring the fun to you. If you have a tent, set it up in your backyard and wait for the sun to go down. Now that the weather is getting warmer, it’s a perfect temperature for laying out in the grass and counting constellations. Don’t forget some s’mores!
2) Grab some ice cream for those hot, summer days
Ice cream shops are making sure that you can enjoy something cool when summer really turns up the heat. You can get pints of ice cream delivered right to your front door to chow down on when the moment strikes.
3) Get ready to barbecue
Nothing says summer more than a grill and some barbecue food. If you’ve got a grill, now’s the time to break it out. But even if you don’t, you can still grill from inside your home. Using a steel rack and your oven, you can achieve a similar effect. You can also buy a grill pan for your stovetop instead. If all of that sounds like too much work, you can pick up barbecue from a restaurant.
4) Enjoy nature any way you can
While social distancing, now is a great time to amp up your outdoor activity. Go for a bike ride, hike, a jog, skateboard, roller skate, scooter around, or just take your dogs for a walk. Anything you can do to smell the fresh air and get a little sun.
5) Go on a virtual vacation
Does it feel like your summer travel plans have been squashed? Thanks to some creative thinkers, you can still see the world (just a little differently). Thanks to some fancy technology, you can see places like the Sistine Chapel, Machu Pichu, The Louvre from the comfort of your couch.
½) Let the carefree vibes come rolling in
Summer is a carefree time and these little doggies are here to show you how to do it right.
