Scott Elk

Scott Elk is an Australian multidisciplinary artist who completed undergrade studies with a BFA in Ceramics, and a Graduate Diploma in Drawing from the National Art School, Australia.

Scott’s art is an exploration of materiality in multiple mediums, often beginning observations with words on paper or drawings with charcoal, before jumping into painting, ceramics, printmaking, and soundscapes. Contrast is central to his practise, playing with light and dark, hardness and softness, focus and blur, and the interplay between those moments in life of loudness and quietness. Scott’s inner maximalist is in constant battle with his minimalist aspirations.
