Narrator #1: Welcome! And thank you for your interest in the Department of Art, Design and Visual Studies. We are housed in the beautiful new Center for the Visual Arts, which is a distinctive addition to the Boise cityscape and community. The CVA is a 94,000-square-foot purpose-built building that is designed specifically for art instruction and with safety features that are appropriate to its use. This building establishes a paradigm for instruction in the arts that will draw the attention of the region and the entire country.

Narrator #2: The department offers the following programs as majors, minors and endorsements; Bachelor of Arts in History of Art and Visual Culture, Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education K-12 and 6-12, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Art with the following emphasis areas; Art Jewelry and Metalsmithing, Ceramics, Drawing and Painting, Time-Based Art, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture.

The Department offers minors in History of Art and Visual Culture, Visual Art and a teaching endorsement in Art Education.

Narrator #3: The Department is composed of 23 full-time faculty, two lecturers and a group of adjuncts who are all experts in their respective fields. They are supported in the academic mission of the department by a dedicated cohort of staff.
