The AVPAA is the primary student representative on all academic issues, they are responsible for meeting with university administration and faculty on behalf of ASBSU and are in charge of chairing and representing the Academic Senate.

Catie Tatom
Associate Vice President of Ethics Affairs
Catie Tatom is a senior majoring in political science with a minor in legal studies and is from Boise, Idaho. She serves as president of the Pre-Law Society and the Political Science Association and plans to attend law school after earning her master’s degree. She enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. A fun fact about her is that she has completed pre-law programs through Harvard Law School and the Lex Fellowship in London, England. Students can reach out to Catie with questions about pre-law, the Ethics Affairs position, or concerns regarding the ASBSU Constitution and Code.

They will process complaints from students regarding possible violations of the ASBSU Constitution and Code and are responsible for implementing code changes and code regulations passed by the legislature.

Rocket McFadden
Associate Vice President of Student Relations
Rocket is a sophomore majoring in finance and is from Sacramento, California. He enjoys lifting, snowboarding, staying involved, and playing both basketball and baseball. A fun fact about him is that he has undergone Tommy John surgery on his elbow. Students can reach out to Rocket for advice on leadership, including how to get involved and where to start.

Ivan Perkins
Chief of Staff
Ivan Perkins is a fourth-year Finance and Accountancy major in the Honors College of Business and Economics. In addition to his coursework, he holds strategic finance credentials from Harvard Business School and recently completed a semester abroad at the London School of Economics & Political Science.
Originally from Boise, Idaho, Ivan planned to pursue his academic and leadership journey at Boise State University. After graduation, He aspires to attend graduate school and work in commercial banking, where he hopes to engage in strategic financial analysis and contribute to businesses focused on long-term, sustainable growth. He has also completed internships in wealth management and asset management, strengthening his analytical skill set and commitment to serving others through financial stewardship.
Ivan is heavily involved across campus through several executive roles as Chief of Staff for ASBSU, Chief Finance Officer for the Inter-Fraternity Council, President of Tau Kappa Epsilon, and member of the Investment Banking Club and the Boise State University Student Investment Fund.

He enjoys golfing, spending time outdoors, hanging out with friends, and cooking Italian cuisine. After graduation, Caleb plans to attend law school and pursue a career as a lifelong public servant. Melanie Haught is a junior double majoring in Business Administration and Human Resource Management, with a minor in Nonprofit Management, and is from Bakersfield, California. She enjoys volunteering, attending Boise State sporting events, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. A fun fact about her is that one of her favorite parts of college has been planning events that bring people together while supporting meaningful causes.
